Planetbeing reveals on Reddit that he already has an untethered jailbreak of iOS 6.0.2 on his device and explains why it hasn’t been released yet.

Yeah, I’m not really sure what all the doom and gloom is about. The fact is, I have an untethered iOS 6.0.2 JB running on my iPhone 5 right now. The reasons it’s not released are because 1. releasing it would burn an exploit we want to save for ourselves so we can always get in to look at new firmware and help JB in the future, 2. iOS 6.1 is coming very soon and will likely break a small part of it anyway, there’s no point in sacrificing the many bugs it won’t break.

Anyway, where there are 4+ bugs (that it took to get this to work), there’s gotta be one or two more so while jailbreaking is getting harder, reports of its death are highly exaggerated.

Planetbeing’s comments come after Pod2g encouraged Twitter users to demand an open iOS from Apple leading to speculation that the Dev-Team had given up.

do you have problem to install apps from app-store when you have IOS 4.1???

you have 3G iPhone and there is no update after 4.2.1 and appstore require 4.3???

Install any app from applestore for 3g/3gs 4.1 or 4.2.1 ( GSM-DOCTOR )
Method No1 a little Tricky
1. Jailbreak you’r IPhone/iPod/iPad
2. with IFile —> System/Library/CoreServices —> SystemVersion.plist
3. wth pc —> itools —> jailbroken data — system/library/coreservice —> systemversion.plist
4. Change BUILD version and Product Version ( for example u have 4.1 build 8B117 change to 5.0.1 or 5.1.1 ( 5.0.1 — 9A405 or 5.1.1 — 9B206)
5. Restart your IPhone
6. istall from Appstore will work 100% tested . ( not work Navigation GPS etc ).

Other Easy Method

here is a Trick to bypass this issue

Open cydia

at home screen open “firmware icon
2guz8lc.png

click on your desired version and click Reboot.

now have changed your version

NOTE:

this is just a trick to bypass update message in appstore means this is not the real version at all.

Pod2g, the hacker behind recent untethered jailbreaks, says that work on a jailbreak of iOS 6 is still ongoing. He has recently been encouraging Twitter users to demand an open iOS from Apple leading to speculation that the Dev-Teams had given up.

I read some coms on the internet today saying that if I started #weWantAnOpenIOS it is because we can’t jailbreak iOS 6 and Apple won.

This is false in many ways. Firstly, the jailbreak is being developed in the underground, and is just not ready for a public release.

Secondly, it’s not the jailbreaker that talked with this message, as I am not involved in security research for some months now, working on

my application and other projects. If the only possible way to #weWantAnOpenIOS is the jailbreak, it’ll happen. It is not the end!

Or course, a jailbreak (although not one ready for public release) has already been demonstrated by chpwn. In addition, pod2g previously announced that he was not working on a jailbreak of iOS 6.

With three months having passed since the release of the iPhone 5, we’ve just about reached a period we can deem acceptable to begin talking of its successor. The rumors have gathered a great deal of this past week, with various analysts chiming into the argument with predictions of multiple color configurations and multiple screen sizes. Sticking with the theme of display alterations, the latest whispers suggest Apple will scrap the recently-implemented in-cell touch technology instead favoring a new “touch-on-display” technology created by Chimei Innolux.

According to a report over at TheChinaTimes, the decision to make the change will help to remedy prevalent interference issues which have taken the shine off the new iPhone 5’s display. Although Apple appeased many by going slightly larger with the 4-inch offering, the decision to fuse the LCD and digitizer as one entity was something of a double-edged sword. For while the in-cell touch technology allowed the iPhone 5 its incredibly thin form factor, it has also been causing interference issues for some iPhone 5 users.

hero_front

Apple certainly has a knack for defying the odds in packing upgraded technology into smaller packages, year in, year out; but often, something is foregone in order to achieve those trademark looks. In the case of the iPhone 5, the fused panel can cause interference woes, and has been highlighted as a root cause of the well-documented scrolling glitch.

The issue hasn’t affected everybody, but in many cases, the iPhone 5′s display has reported to cease in accepting touch inputs when a continual up-and-down slide gesture is performed quickly. TheChinaTimes report leads us to believe that Innolux’s alternative “touch-on-display” can maintain the svelteness, without compromising on the general user experience by bringing interference.

Innolux is said to have sent some samples over to Apple for purpose of testing, and should all go smoothly, the next iPhone – widely presumed to be called the iPhone 5S – could be the first handset to enjoy the new technology.

It’s still early, but given the iPhone’s significance in the smartphone market as a whole, the rumors and speculation will continue to flow through.

These are instructions on how to downgrade your iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G’s baseband from the iPad’s 06.15 baseband to 05.13.04 using RedSn0w for Windows. The Mac version of this tutorial can be found here.

Typically you’d have the 06.15 baseband if you unlock with ultrasn0w but updated your iPhone baseband past 05.13.04. With this new capability, you can now downgrade specifically from 06.15 to 05.13.04 (even if you never had 05.13.04 on that device before). This gives you the best of both worlds: ultrasn0w unlock compatibility and a normal iPhone baseband with full GPS and the ability to use stock IPSWs again.

Step One
Create a new folder on your desktop called Pwnage.

In the folder place the current firmware of your device (which can be downloaded from here) and the latest version of RedSn0w (from here).

Extract the RedSn0w zip file by double clicking it.

Step Two
Launch the redsn0w application from the redsn0w folder we extracted earlier. You can do this by right clicking the executable and selecting Run as Administrator contextual menu.

Step Three
Once RedSn0w opens click the Extras button.

Step Four
Choose Select IPSW from the Extras menu.

Step Five
Navigate to the Pwnage folder on your desktop, choose the firmware ipsw we downloaded earlier, and click Open.

Click OK to confirm your selection.

Tell RedSn0w whether you have a newer or older model iPhone 3GS.

Step Six
Press Back to get back to the main menu then click the Jailbreak button.

Step Seven
RedSn0w will now prepare the jailbreak data.

Step Eight
Check the Downgrade from iPad baseband checkbox, uncheck Cydia if you already have it installed, and click Next to proceed through the normal DFU ramdisk steps.

Step Nine
Plug your iPhone into the computer and make sure its OFF then click the Next button

Step Ten
RedSn0w will now guide you through the steps to get into DFU mode. You can find more help with DFU mode here.

Hold down both the Home button and the Power button for 10 seconds.

Release the Power button and continue holding the Home button until RedSn0w detects the device.

Step Eleven
Your iPhone will now be exploited with limera1n and reboot

Step Twelve
Your iPhone will now be rebooted again and RedSn0w will begin uploading the new RAM Disk and Kernel.

Step Thirteen
RedSn0w will now inform you that its work is done. The rest of this process will take place on your device.

Step Fourteen
After showing some scrolling text, your iPhone will display the pwnapple icon and say Flashing Baseband. THIS STEP TAKES A VERY LONG TIME to complete and there won’t be any feedback while its running. Please just let it be for the next 3-8 minutes! When the ramdisk has done its job it will reboot the phone on its own.

Step Fifteen
Once the phone has rebooted you will be on the 05.13.04 baseband.

***A big thanks to the iPhone Dev-Team for making this possible!
